Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach for the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball team. This seasonal position aims to foster a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes, promoting skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coaching, committed to the growth of young athletes, and capable of instilling a love for the game of basketball. Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions to develop players' skills and teamwork.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball program, including game strategies and player development.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Monitor and assess player performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with the Varsity coaching staff to align training and development goals.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league regulations and policies.
- Organize and participate in team meetings, fundraising activities, and community engagement events.
- Maintain accurate records of player attendance, statistics, and other relevant information. Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes and their families.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Must pass a background check and meet any other school or district requirements.
