Basketball Skills Trainer (Player Development Focus)

Company Description The Factory MI is a basketball training facility dedicated to enhancing player development through skill level-based training classes. Located in Westland, MI, we are committed to fostering growth and excellence in basketball by offering a variety of training classes tailored to meet individual needs. Our facility provides a supportive environment for athletes of all levels to improve their game, build confidence, and develop both technical and life skills.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a PART-TIME, on-site role located in Westland, MI. Classes occur during the evenings Monday-Friday (4:30pm-8pm), then Saturday morning (9am-12pm). Weekly hours range between 6-20hrs. The trainer will lead skill-based classes, mentor athletes, and design training programs tailored to individual and group needs. This role is GREAT for former college players, graduate assistants, and toung coaches who are looking to gain additional experience in athlete development and leadership postions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead a variety of group training classes (ball-handling, shooting, footwork, and layups). ​Assist/lead larger camps/clinics throughout the year. ​Teach athletes of varying age and skill level the fundamentals of the game ​Build quality relationships with athletes and parents ​Perform player assessments and evaluate skill level of new athletes ​Track player progress ​Maintain clean and organized court space. ​Occassionally answer phones for inquiring customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

​High School Diploma/GED required ​Playing experience

REQUIRED

(HS Varisty MINIMUM, college and/or pro preferred) ​Coaching/training experience preferred ​Strong organization, leadership and communication skills ​Customer service skills are a plus ​Valid Driver's license required ​Ability to bring in clients is a plus ​Must pass a background check ​

PAY/COMPENSATION

Hourly/class rate: $15-$30 (based on experience) ​Opportunities to grow client base and quickly increase earnings ​Saturday pay increase when working the weekend ​Greatly prepares trainers for positions in coaching and athletics
