Job Description

Overview The Director of Golf (DG) at Westwood Hills Country Club will be a highly motivated and team-oriented leader, visible and accessible to both membership and staff. The DG oversees all daily golf operations, including administrative and financial aspects, with a focus on the business structure of the golf course and pro shop. The DG is responsible for ensuring the cohesiveness of the pro shop team, adherence to service standards, and maintaining high levels of member satisfaction. The DG will be the face of the golf operation, exhibiting strong public relations, sales, and business skills, and will report directly to the WHCC Board of Directors. Experience Required Class A or PGA Associate is preferred. Proven ability to manage golf operations efficiently and effectively. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility and tournament operations. Bachelor's degree in recreation, business management, agronomy, turf management or related field preferred but not required. Essential Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate all golf operations including the POS. Execute golf tournaments, events, and leagues to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently. Track and verify all player fees are charged appropriately to provide accurate accounting and recordkeeping. Deliver outstanding customer service to members and visitors. Build and maintain strong relationships with members and guests. Adapt to new technology platforms to enhance operations, customer experience, and marketing. Participate in Board and Shareholder meetings to set policies and strategies. Manage and process payroll for the pro shop; maintain employee files and records. Ensure proper billing/invoicing of all golf operations and functions. Develop and oversee the club marketing plan. Respond to membership needs through program development and customer service. Serve as community liaison for the club. Lead membership recruitment and retention efforts. Ensure club operation compliance with all laws. Develop and disseminate management philosophy for optimal results and satisfaction. Meet administrative and reporting requirements set by the Board of Directors. Maintain a profitable golf merchandising operation. Oversee buying plan and all golf-related purchasing. Supervise inventories and present diverse equipment, apparel, and accessories. Supervise and train pro shop/golf operation employees on POS. Maintain an attractive and orderly golf shop. Oversee practice facility operations. Assist with golf instruction for all skill levels. Develop and implement programs to enhance player skills and attract new players.
