This role is primarily assigned to Starter duties and may also assist as a Carts/Greeter or Course Host (Marshal/Course Ambassador) as business needs require. Schedule This position typically works Monday through Thursday , with flexibility required based on operational needs. Reporting Relationship Reports to the First Assistant Golf Professional, Head Golf Professional, and Director of Golf. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including, but not limited to, the following: Customer Service & Professional Standards Greet Members and Guests in a friendly, professional manner Maintain a clean, neat appearance in accordance with dress code guidelines Treat all Members, Guests, and employees with courtesy and respect Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas Communicate any issues, safety concerns, or unusual situations to supervisory staff Starter Responsibilities Maintain order on the first and tenth tees in accordance with the daily tee sheet Greet golfers, confirm names, tee times, and starter receipts Record cart numbers and actual start times for each group Communicate pace‑of‑play expectations and course conditions Inform golfers of cart rules (cart‑path‑only, 90‑degree rule, etc.) Provide course information, including signage guidance, GPS use, and restroom locations Maintain ongoing communication with the golf shop regarding timing, walk‑ups, and pairing adjustments Ensure cart usage aligns with club guidelines Coordinate with Outside Services regarding excess carts Record turn times and assist with maintaining consistent pace of play Ensure compliance with club policies regarding outside food, beverages, and coolers Additional Duties Set up and maintain the warm‑up/practice area, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supply of practice balls Operate shuttle transportation to and from the warm‑up area during tournaments, as needed Maintain a clean and safe working environment and assist coworkers with basic safety practices Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) One (1) year of related experience preferred Basic knowledge of golf course operations Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license Ability to safely operate golf carts Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Self‑motivated and dependable with reliable attendance Ability to recognize workplace safety concerns and follow safety procedures Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures Regular lifting up to 25 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Exposure to moving equipment and outdoor environments Fast‑paced golf club setting within an upscale residential community
