Job Description

Overview Join the Professional Staff at Indiana Country Club! Assistant Golf Professional needed to start as soon as possible. The professional can plan to be on property year round with a limited schedule during the months of November-March. Benefits include a biweekly salary range of $1,500 to $1,700 based on experience. A 48-53 hour flex schedule that can be spread over a 5-to-6-day work week depending on the needs of the operation. Additional income is available coming from private lessons, junior camp and clinics, group lessons, and performance bonuses. Estimated additional income, $5,000-$8,000 based on the efforts of the professional. Indiana Country Club is a private member-owned club. Established in 1920, it is a family-oriented club. The club features an outstanding Willie Park, Jr. designed, 6,574-yard golf course with tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and water hazards. The club is dedicated to hosting numerous local, state, and national championship events. Currently the club boasts a busy golf schedule for the membership. Candidates can anticipate weekly golf events, major events such as member guest invitationals, club championships, and a junior golf program. ICC anticipates about 12,000 rounds of golf with the bulk of the season taking place between Memorial and Labor Day. The town of Indiana, located about 1.5 hours northeast of Pittsburgh and 30 minutes north of Greensburg, is a vibrant college town home to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It also serves as the headquarters for two bank branches, features a regional hospital, and embraces the charm of small-town life. Previous assistant development includes Head Golf Professional Assistant Golf Professional at a top 100 course. Ability to provide control over your life work balance using a flex schedule that is influenced by you! Experience Required Interpersonal skills that are preferred and will be emphasized throughout the season. Ability to communicate effectively through handwritten verbal, and nonverbal messages. Positive body language and ability to motivate themselves and others. Public Speaking ability. Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures. An open mindset personality and willingness to learn. Dependability during busy times of the golf schedule. Problem solving skills. Fair and unbiased decision making. A work ethic that showcases not only effort but desire to be present. Other Skills that are Preferred Knowledge of Office 365 programs. Software knowledge including Golf Genius, point of sale systems, GHIN Handicap service etc. The ability to network with local professionals, sales representatives and other golf industry personnel.
