Job Description

Overview Country Club of Charleston is a premiere private club in the low country of South Carolina founded in 1900. The club currently sits on James Island when renowned architect Seth Raynor designed the course as we know it today in 1925. The club has hosted the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur, 2019 U.S. Women's Open, and will host the 2028 U.S. Mid-Amateur. Additionally, the club is home to The Azalea Invitational, a well-known amateur event in the southeast that has attracted past Champions such as Stewart Hagestad, Luke Clanton, C.T. Pan, and Webb Simpson. The course is currently undergoing a thorough restoration by Kyle Franz and is set to open in September 2026. The golf operation is active with 30,000+ rounds a year with a full member tournament schedule. The Assistant Golf Professional & Junior Golf Leader will assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in the management of the day-to-day golf operations. In addition to daily operations, this position will lead the Junior Golf Program's growth at Country Club of Charleston. This Assistant Professional will work closely with the other Assistants to provide the membership with the highest level of hospitality and an overall elevated experience at the club. Experience Required 2+ years as a Class A PGA Professional preferably working at high end private clubs with junior golf experince Essential Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of the Junior Golf Program, which include but not limited to planning, administering clinics, budgeting, and scheduling staff Execute multiple member events as assigned by the Head Golf Professional Assist Head Golf Professional in the buying, receiving, and displaying of merchandise Assist Head Golf Professional in the planning, set up, and administration of The Azalea Invitational Manage daily operations such as the tee sheet, weekly men's and ladies' events, starting, rangering and daily member needs Communicate with other departments to coordinate golf activities Assist Director of Instruction with group clinic series Play golf with all demographics of membership Benefits 5-day work week: 40-45 hours a week (more during major events) Accrued vacation every year equal to 3 weeks Clothing Allowance PGA Dues paid Health/Dental/Vision insurance after 90 days Travel and Training budget Meals Playing and practice privileges 401K after one year
