Job Description

Overview The Golf Club at Texas A&M is located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The Club is managed by Sterling Golf, a golf course management company based out of Houston, Texas. Sterling Golf currently manages ten properties in Houston and the surrounding areas, and continues to grow. We are looking for quality golf professionals to join our team, as the opportunities for advancement within Sterling Golf are great. This position is Assistant Golf Professional, and reports to the Director of Golf. Responsibilities include, but not limited to above and beyond customer service, managing the outside service staff, managing the starter/marshall staff, assist in the coordination and operation of tournaments, assist the Merchandise Manager in monthly inventories, teaching private and group golf lessons, opening or closing the golf shop and facility, promoting memberships to the club, maintaining PGA status, and have a passion for the golf business. Experience Required Experience with Golf Now tee time/POS system. Expert knowledge of Golf Genius tournament software. Experience coordinating and operating large tournaments. Experience managing employees. Ghin Handicap system. Word, Excel, and Publisher Essential Responsibilities Provide above and beyond customer service. Manage the outside service staff. Manage the starter/marshall staff. Assist in the coordination and operation of tournaments. Assist the Merchandise Manager in monthly inventories. Teach private and group golf lessons. Work to attain PGA membership.
