We are passionate about the sport of archery and dedicated to delivering world-class products and an exceptional experience to archers of all levels — from beginners to competitive professionals. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Bow Technician / Customer Service Associate to join our team. Position Overview The Bow Technician / Customer Service Associate is a dual-role position that combines hands-on bow building, tuning, and repair with front-line customer interaction. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for archery, strong technical skills, and a genuine desire to help customers find the right equipment and solutions for their needs. This position is the face of Shrewd Outdoors to many of our customers and plays a critical role in representing our brand values every day.
Key Responsibilities Bow Technician Duties:
Build, assemble, and set up compound and/or recurve bows to manufacturer specifications Perform bow tuning including draw length and draw weight adjustments, cam timing, nocking point setting, and arrow rest installation Diagnose and repair bow malfunctions, string and cable replacements, limb inspections, and related equipment issues Install and align bow accessories including sights, stabilizers, arrow rests, quivers, and wrist slings Perform paper tuning, walk-back tuning, and other precision tuning processes Inspect completed setups for quality, safety, and accuracy before returning to customers Maintain shop equipment, tools, and bow press in proper working condition Stay current on new bow models, archery technology, and industry trends
Customer Service Duties:
Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, and via email in a friendly and professional manner Depending on experience position could also work at Shrewd Archery in the customer service department to provide additional advancement opportunities. Listen to customer needs and provide knowledgeable recommendations on bows, accessories, and archery supplies Process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges accurately Assist with product inquiries, order status updates, and warranty claims Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom and service area Educate customers on bow safety, maintenance, and proper use Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and brand loyalty Collaborate with the team to meet customer satisfaction and sales goals
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a bow technician or in a related archery service role Strong working knowledge of compound bow mechanics, tuning processes, and archery equipment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Comfortable using basic computer systems for point-of-sale and order management Passion for archery and the outdoor industry
Preferred:
National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) certification or equivalent Archery Trade Association (ATA) or manufacturer-specific training/certifications Experience with both compound and traditional/recurve equipment Previous retail or customer service experience Competitive archery background is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity required for precision bow assembly and tuning work
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$23.00
