Job Description
Position Summary The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Assistant Baker partners with the Baker to ensure cakes of the highest quality are consistently prepared for our guests and contributes to superior service by meeting production demands. Following strict proprietary recipes, NbC production methods, and food safety standards, the Assistant Baker supports the baking process for our cakes, offered in a variety of flavors and sizes. The Assistant Baker embodies NbC core values and demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence, teamwork, and efficiency in the workplace.
Typical Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, starting at 8:30 AM, with occasional Friday shifts during peak/holiday periods. Accountabilities/Duties Follows NbC proprietary recipes and cake production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers and ovens, and other tools to bake cakes Assists the Baker in preparing ingredients and equipment, placing cake pans into ovens, and monitoring the baking process Adheres to proper packaging, labeling, and storage of baked cakes, including product rotation standards, and maintains baking and refrigeration logs Cleans, sanitizes, and restocks workstation and assists the Baker to ensure all baking supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift Cross-trains in utility/dishwashing responsibilities and supports additional bakery operations as needed to ensure a clean, efficient, and well-functioning production environment Complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record Requirements & Work Conditions Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Role is repetitive and detail-oriented in nature Ability to stand for extended periods of time Comfortable working morning shifts and maintaining a consistent schedule Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong attendance Typical production schedule is Monday-Thursday, with occasional Friday shifts during peak/holiday periods Shift begins at approximately 8:30 AM; end time varies based on production needs (generally up to 6 hours per shift) Willingness to cross-train in utility/dishwashing and support additional bakery operations as needed Qualifications Previous baking, food service, or kitchen experience preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Ability to follow recipes and procedures precisely Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Team player with a positive attitudeCompensation & Work Environment Compensation:
