• About the Role - Head Baker
• We are seeking a skilled and passionate Head Baker to join our team at Park Hyatt Aviara. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on laminated doughs, bread pastries, and a variety of other baked goods. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to producing high-quality baked items, we want to hear from you!

• Key Responsibilities:

• + Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, and laminated doughs, including croissants, Danish, and puff pastry.

+ Measure and mix ingredients accurately to create doughs and batters. + Follow recipes and adjust based on seasonal ingredients and availability. + Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. + Monitor and manage baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal product quality. + Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and improve existing products. + Assist in inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies as needed. + Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues.

• Qualifications:

• + Previous experience as a baker or pastry cook, preferably in a professional kitchen.

+ Strong knowledge of laminated dough techniques and bread pastry production. + Familiarity with various baking methods and equipment. + Ability to work early mornings, starting around 4:00 AM, with flexibility for additional hours as needed. + Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. + Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. + Team player with strong communication skills.
