Cake Decorator Kukje Bakery Daly City, CA Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Food production Coating Culinary Arts FIFO Donut preparation Full Job Description Are you a recent culinary school graduate or an aspiring baker looking to turn your passion for cakes into a professional career? Kukje Bakery is seeking a motivated, entry-level cake decorator. You will work directly under the close supervision and mentorship of our talented Head Pastry Chef, learning advanced techniques in baking, building, and decorating. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a solid foundation in professional cake production. Key Responsibilities Assist in baking high-quality cake layers following established bakery recipes. Prepare frostings, fillings, glazes, and curds from scratch. Level, torte, fill, and crumb-coat cakes with precision. Support the Pastry Chef with base frosting and introductory decoration tasks. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation. Manage inventory by rotating ingredients using the FIFO method. Follow all food safety and health department guidelines strictly. Qualifications & Skills Basic knowledge of baking principles and cake assembly. Recent graduation from a culinary/pastry arts program is highly preferred, but not required. Ability to follow precise recipes and measurements. Strong desire to learn, take constructive feedback, and improve skills. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
