The qualified candidate will have at least one year experience baking from scratch for a busy kitchen. The position requires creativity in introducing new items to the menu as well as decorating skills. Education may be substituted for experience.

Prepares appetizing baked goods (rolls, cakes, cookies, etc.) and desserts for residents and employees following standardized recipes by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the
Following:
Directly responsible for preparation of baked goods and desserts (for regular and special diets) according to menu following standardized recipes. Calculates quantities required for the number of persons to be served. Delegate's responsibility to cooks assistants assigned to help in preparation of baked goods and desserts. Assists in cleaning functions in order to keep work area clean and maintained in a safe and sanitary manner. Ensures that food is stored, marked, dated and covered correctly following FIFO methods. Meets food production schedules according to menu. Prepares baked goods and desserts for banquets and other special functions as required. Notifies Food Service Director and/or Chef of food items and supplies in low supply. Performs all duties in keeping with the mission statement of The Village and Freedom Properties. Adheres to Food Service Dept. motto "Customer Satisfaction is My Responsibility". Other duties, assignments and/or special projects as required may be assigned that relate to the service of our residents to daily dietary department operations.
