Job Description

DORO Marketplace Commissary Bakery, an artisanal bakery with a beautiful 3000 square foot state-of-the-art bakery in Wethersfield, CT, is currently looking to fill artisan baker & croissant production position at 1142 Silas Deane HWY. This is an excellent opportunity to explore and sharpen baking, classic French baking and pastry techniques, creating some of the area's best croissants and bread and working with the best ingredients the area has to offer.

Preferred experience:
Culinary degree and two years of experience in a professional bakery or restaurant kitchen is advantageous, but training will be provided and all experience levels encouraged to apply.
OUR COMPANY
We make all of our pastries, and sour dough breads from scratch each day in our kitchen. Our croissants are small batch crafted with a combination of local and French butters and freshly milled organic flours. Our doughs are made with all-natural, house-made starters and long fermentation periods. Breads are hand-shaped, fermented, and then scored before being baked in a stone deck oven. From a tradi baguette to fruit-filled levains, we use a variety of flours in creating our levains that create richer, deeper flavors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation and baking of pastries, mixing doughs and baking
  • Preparation of mise en place
  • Proactive assistance with kitchen cleanliness and organization. Preferred applicants will be responsible and have the following:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Efficient and clean work style
  • Cooperate and collaborate with the rest of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done on time. Strong dedication toward learning and continuous improvement. SHIFTS
  • We have several different baking shifts.
Some begin as early as 4AM, while others begin at 4PM and are expected to finish at 12AM. We take priority in providing a sustainable work-life balance for our team, and we always follow mindful scheduling practices.
