Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Baker to lead our bakery operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily bakery activities, and mix cookies and brownies from scratch.
YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN WORK SCHEDULE!
This is a PT position, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Must be able to work on Tuesday's between 8am-4pm to receive deliveries. Other than than, you can create your own schedule as long as you meet the bakery pars. A minimum 1 year of professional experience with mixing ingredients and baking in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting is REQUIRED and should be reflected on your resume. We are looking for a reliable and skilled baker to independently manage the production of our signature cookies and brownies. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of baking principles and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.Responsibilities:
Accurately measuring and combining ingredients according to The Baked Bear's recipes and procedures. Operating commercial mixers and other bakery equipment to produce consistent, high-quality cookie and brownie dough. Scooping and portioning cookie dough to maintain consistent product size and weight. Managing mixing pars, monitoring ingredient levels, and adjusting production as needed to meet demand. Baking cookies and brownies in commercial ovens, adhering to precise temperature and timing guidelines. Ensuring all baked goods meet The Baked Bear's quality standards for taste, texture, and appearance. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health regulations and safety procedures. Applying knowledge of food handling requirements and ensuring proper storage of ingredients and finished products. Proactively identifying and addressing any baking-related issues, such as inconsistencies in dough or oven performance. Communicating effectively with management regarding inventory needs, equipment maintenance, and any other relevant concerns. Assisting with bakery needs for catering events (as needed). Receive and restock product and inventory deliveries Manage and communicate inventory needs immediately Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of professional experience with mixing ingredients and baking in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting is REQUIRED and should be reflected on your resume. Culinary students are encouraged to apply Must have reliable transportation. Demonstrated experience in scaling recipes, batch baking, and maintaining consistent product quality. Thorough understanding of baking principles, including ingredient interactions and oven management. Must be available to work on an as-needed basis at the South Beach location. Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision during overnight hours. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following recipes and procedures precisely. Possession of a food handler's card or willingness to obtain one upon hire. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Must be professional, punctual, and reliable. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Job Type:
