Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the ship's bakery, including ordering ingredients, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment onboard the cruise ship Work closely with the Executive Chef to create and execute a variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries for our guests Ensure all baked goods are made to the highest quality standards and are visually appealing Train and supervise a team of bakers, ensuring they adhere to company standards and follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines Collaborate with other departments, such as the dining room and room service, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of baked goods to guests Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate them into the menu when appropriate Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment, following all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Head Baker, preferably in a high-volume, fine dining establishment Culinary degree or equivalent experience in baking and pastry arts Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment Ability to manage and train a team Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once Strong communication and interpersonal skills Fluent in English, both written and verbal Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary travel documents
