Morning Cafe Baker and Food Prep

Bonjour from Café Taureau. We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual(s) to join our team to bake and prep food. As a member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our beloved, European inspired, neighborhood cafe. If you have a passion for hospitality, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience in food preparation and baking, we would love to hear from you. Barista experience is not necessary but is a plus.

Main Responsibilities:

• Bake off pastries and prep food for the following day. Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the kitchen manager
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing dishes and sanitizing kitchen equipment
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth coordination of tasks
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe working environment

Experience:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is required.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods is a plus
• Familiarity with food safety guidelines and procedures is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Proofing and baking daily pars of bread and pastries. Prepping ingredients and menu items. Fulfilling the line orders efficiently and professionally. Cleaning and maintaining safe and efficient workspace. Working with Manager to maintain stock levels. Be a committed and friendly addition to our team and work well under pressure. Must be able to stand for 5-7hrs at a time and lift at least 35lbs. Training opportunities provided. 30-40 hours a week
