We love potatoes—and we're on a mission to change the way people think about donuts. Founded by a seasoned restaurant industry veteran with a passion for simple, flavorful food, we craft donuts that celebrate quality above all else. Using only organic, natural ingredients and never any artificial additives, our potato donuts offer a wholesome twist on a classic indulgence. After earning the title of "Best Donut" at Donutfest 2019, we're driven by one goal: to make our one-of-a-kind potato donuts an everyday favorite for Chicagoans.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, and adherence to food safety standards. Develop and maintain production schedules for our unique potato pastries, taking into account inventory levels and customer demand. Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback. Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastries, adhering to established recipes and procedures. Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining stock levels, and minimizing waste. Develop and implement cost-control measures to optimize kitchen operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, enforcing all safety protocols and sanitation guidelines. Conduct regular inspections and ensure all equipment is functioning properly. Assist in the development of new potato pastry recipes and menu innovation alongside the head baker (if applicable). Schedule and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, onboarding, and maintaining a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
BAKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Minimum 2 years of experience in a lead role in a bakery or pastry kitchen setting. Proven experience in leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently. Proficiency in inventory management and cost-control techniques. A passion for potato-based pastries and a commitment to quality and innovation.
