The ideal candidate will have a passion for baked goods and customer service, with experience in food preparation and handling. This role involves assisting with bakery operations, packaging baked goods, reviewing orders and providing exceptional service to our customers in a fast-paced environment. The Bakery Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and presentation of our bakery products while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all shoppers. Duties Package all orders, ensuring quality and accuracy Package orders for shipping Generate production reports and share with departments in the bakery Assist customers with their bakery selections, answer questions, and provide product recommendations Answer phones and emails as necessary Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area in compliance with food safety standards Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before display or sale Restock shelves and display cases with fresh products throughout the shift Assist guests with placing orders through the Point of Sale Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times Qualifications Availability to start at 4am Availability for Friday through Tuesday schedule - weekends are mandatory Fluency in Spanish is a plus Previous experience in baking, pastry arts, or culinary fields is preferred; experience in cake decorating or food production is a plus Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with shoppers Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food preparation methods Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Experience in food industry settings such as restaurants, catering, or retail bakeries is advantageous Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
