In this role, you will bring your culinary expertise to handle food production and assist with food preparation for various bakery and catering needs. Your passion for baking will help deliver exceptional products that delight our customers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your culinary skills in a vibrant retail environment. Duties Prepare baked goods, pastries, and other food items following established recipes and safety standards Package baked goods efficiently for retail display or catering orders while maintaining presentation quality Assist in food production tasks such as mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients for bakery items Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations Support catering events by preparing and presenting food items professionally Handle customer inquiries related to bakery products with friendly service and product knowledge Experience Previous experience in pastry arts preferred; culinary school graduates are encouraged to apply Hands-on experience in food handling, baking, or kitchen environments within the food industry or restaurant settings Strong knife skills and familiarity with baking equipment and techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures Experience in packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes is a plus Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards Join us at McLain's Markets Inc. where your culinary talents will shine!
