Job Description

Cambridge School of Culinary Arts (CSCA) Cafe is a new and exciting café and bakery that will highlight exceptional coffee, exquisite pastries and a friendly atmosphere. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch service, the highest quality products, showcasing the work of CSCA's Professional students and creating a community space where customers can relax and enjoy their favorite beverages, baked goodies and other retail products .
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Morning Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and ensuring the quality of a variety of baked goods during the early morning prior to opening hours. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation:
Measure and mix ingredients accurately to prepare doughs, batters, and other baking mixtures according to established recipes.
Baking:
Operate ovens and baking equipment to bake products to specifications, adjusting temperatures and times as necessary.
Quality Control:
Monitor and ensure the quality and consistency of baked goods, making adjustments to recipes or processes as needed.
Inventory Management:
Track and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ordering and restocking as needed to maintain production levels.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of baking equipment and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Packaging:
Package finished products appropriately for sale or distribution, ensuring presentation meets company standards.
Record Keeping:
Document ingredient usage, inventory levels, and any issues or adjustments made during the baking process.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ Years of Baking/Pastry Industry Experience Preferred Pastry/Culinary Certificate, Diploma or Degree is Preferred High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required Proven experience as a baker, preferably in a similar role. Strong knowledge of baking techniques and equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina to handle long hours and perform manual tasks. Ability to work effectively during nighttime hours, starting in the evening and finishing early in the morning. Food Safe Handling Certified
SCHEDULE
This is an Hourly Part Time Position Typical shifts will be early mornings 3-5 days a week based on business needs.
COMPENSATION
$22 - $27/hr. commensurate with Experience and Educational Background
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a retail/restaurant environment.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full time, salaried Position. Work hours are 25+ hours per week. Schedule based on operating hours and business needs.
