We specialize in Alfajor cookies, cakes, tarts, French macarons and donuts. At our Latin bakery, we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience, from the quality of our products to the warmth of our service. Dulceology Bakery is seeking a passionate, energetic and experienced Cake/Pastry Decorator to join our team. Responsibilities may include preparing donuts, cupcakes, cookies and pastries according to morning production schedule and orders. Candidates must also be self-starters and focus on cake production, must have a strong work ethic, ability to work standing for long periods and a commitment to detail. Responsibilities:
Produces bakery products to maintain display shelves, custom and catering needs following production sheet. Bakes products according to established recipes and customer requests. Prepares Swiss buttercreams, fillings, pastry creams, and fruit jams according to recipes. Decorate cakes for in-store and pre-orders using Swiss buttercream or whipped cream. Work together with team in creating new recipes, cake flavors and techniques. Have knowledge and follow food safety procedures. Be able to efficiently communicate with co-workers and managers. Properly label and store finished products and raw ingredient. Ensuring the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations. Maintaining your work area clean and organized.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Strong knowledge and passion for baking, decorating techniques, measurements and ingredients. Great attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and baking instructions. Experience with baking equipment, commercial mixers, ovens and dough roller is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part as a team. Positive, friendly attitude and team player. Capable of working in a fast paced production environment. Ability to work some weekends and early mornings.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent Post-secondary training, certificate in culinary arts or related field preferred OR atleast 2 years of professional experience as a Cake Decorator, Pastry Chef or relevant role. Food Safety certification is a plus but not required •Pay is dependent on education, experience and qualifications.
