Job Description
Shoreline Market + Cafe is looking for a reliable Baker / Prep Worker . This role is best for someone who enjoys hands-on kitchen work and being part of a small, quality-focused bakery team. You'll help with the production of sourdough breads, bagels, donuts, focaccia, cold drinks, spreads, and other market items. Experience in a bakery is helpful, but reliability, speed, cleanliness, and willingness to learn are just as important. Responsibilities Assist with weekly bakery and market prep, including: Weighing ingredients and following recipes accurately Mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking bakery items Helping with sourdough breads, bagels, focaccia, and donuts Frying, glazing, packaging, and labeling products Preparing drinks, milks, spreads, and other market items Washing dishes, sanitizing work areas, and keeping the kitchen organized Packing products for transport to the farmers market Working efficiently during early-morning production windows Following food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who is: Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with early mornings Fast-moving but careful with details Clean, organized, and respectful in a shared kitchen Able to follow recipes and production lists closely Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting 25-50 lbs Positive, calm, and team-oriented under pressure Interested in artisan baking, sourdough, farmers markets, or quality food production Schedule Around 30 hours a week - potentially more. Hours would be worked Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Mostly after 8am. 1 earlier morning shift may be requested. Pay $18-$22/hr , depending on experience, reliability, and responsibilities. Higher pay may be considered for candidates with strong bakery experience, early-morning availability, or the ability to take on more independent production tasks.
