We're looking for someone who is dependable, creative, organized, and excited to take ownership of their work while growing alongside our business. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys both the creative and operational sides of a bakery environment. The right candidate will be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced kitchen while also helping support organization, workflow, customer communication, and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities for this position include:
creating and managing weekly production schedules ingredient and supply inventory management assisting with customer communication and custom order organization shopping for ingredients and ordering supplies online baking cakes and preparing cookie doughs and desserts decorating cake pops, sugar cookies, cakes, and cupcakes assisting with packaging and retail preparation helping maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the workday supporting decorating classes, events, and customer experiences We are especially interested in finding someone who is excited about long-term growth opportunities within the bakery and wants to become an important part of a small creative business. Previous bakery experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with baking, cake decorating, sugar cookies, cupcakes, and general kitchen workflow. However, we are also open to training someone with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn. We are committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace. Current scheduling needs include daytime availability Monday-Saturday, with occasional evening availability for decorating classes and special events as opportunities arise. Hours for this position are variable based on season and production needs, and will typically range between 25-35 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Previous bakery, baking, and/or decorating experience Strong work ethic and willingness to learn quickly Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Friendly and professional demeanor with customers and the public Positive attitude and reliability Trustworthy and self-motivated Comfortable communicating with customers regarding custom orders and bakery questions
Essential Duties:
Creating production schedules based on custom orders and decorating classes Managing ingredient and supply inventory, including shopping and online ordering Assisting with customer inquiries, custom order communication, and organization Prioritizing daily tasks for efficient workflow Maintaining a clean kitchen, including dishes, sweeping, mopping, and organization Packaging baked goods and preparing boxes and packaging materials Measuring and preparing ingredients for cakes, cookies, cake pops, and other desserts Assisting with production of cake pops, sugar cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and pastries Supporting retail sales and customer service Taking initiative to learn and improve baking and decorating skills Assisting with setup, preparation, and execution of classes and events Helping improve organization and systems within the bakery as the business continues to grow Starting pay is based on experience and qualifications, with experienced candidates typically starting between $20-22/hour.
