This is not an entry-level role — we're looking for someone with 5+ years of professional bakery experience who can produce high-quality custom cakes from day one. You'll work directly with our Owner & Executive Pastry Chef on custom orders for weddings, birthdays, and events. This role requires strong technical skill, speed, and the ability to take ownership of projects in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Pay starts at $25+/hr depending on experience. Full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week). Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday (closed Sundays & Mondays). Responsibilities Decorate custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, and events (both walk-in and pre-order) Stack, ice, and finish cakes to a high standard, especially in buttercream Execute detailed fondant work, including sculpting and tiered cakes Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while meeting production timelines Take ownership of decorating projects from start to finish Assist with general bakery operations, prep, and maintaining a clean workspace Requirements 5+ years of professional cake decorating experience in a fast-paced bakery (no home, schooling, or hobby experience) Strong portfolio of work (Instagram, website, or accessible photos) Proven buttercream skills — able to stack and ice smoothly without supervision Strong fondant skills — comfortable with detailed and fully covered cakes Availability on Fridays & Saturdays (required) Reliable, punctual, and serious about your craft Local to the Capital Region — this is an in-person role in
