Full-Time / Part-Time About Velvet Oven Velvet Oven is a modern bakery focused on high-quality pastries, viral desserts, artisan breads, and handcrafted croissants. We are building a fast-growing brand known for creativity, consistency, and premium products. Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and passionate Croissant Baker to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, laminating, proofing, baking, and finishing high-quality croissants and laminated pastries daily. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, cleanliness, and working in a fast-paced bakery environment. Responsibilities Prepare croissant dough and laminated pastry dough from scratch Perform proper dough mixing, resting, folding, and lamination techniques Shape, proof, bake, and finish croissants and specialty pastries Maintain consistency in product quality, appearance, and taste Monitor fermentation, proofing times, and baking temperatures Assist with production planning and daily prep Maintain a clean and organized workstation Follow all food safety and sanitation standards Work efficiently during high-volume production periods Communicate with kitchen leadership regarding inventory and production needs Help develop and improve new croissant flavors and pastry items Qualifications Experience with croissant production and laminated dough preferred Strong understanding of baking fundamentals and dough handling Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and consistency Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills Passion for high-end pastries and artisan baking Preferred Experience Artisan bakery experience Experience with commercial bakery equipment Knowledge of fermentation and proofing processes Experience producing high-volume pastry batches Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in warm kitchen environments What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Growth opportunities within a rapidly growing bakery brand Creative and team-oriented environment Employee discounts Opportunity to help shape one of Cincinnati's newest bakery concepts
