We are looking for a full time employee who is available to work weekends
Position Description:
Assembles and Decorates cakes, cupcakes & assorted desserts with heavy volume in stacked and artistically decorated high end weddings cakes, custom cakes, and signature cakes. Produce fillings, frostings, buttercreams, icings, whipped cream, etc. Weekly baking duties as well that will vary week to week.
Responsibilities of Position:
Trimming, crumb coating, decorating, stacking of wedding cakes, specialty cakes, signature cakes, shop cakes, cakelets, mini cakes, with high level of attention to detail, etc.

Decorating larger quantities of mini cupcakes, standard cupcakes, tarts, dessert shooters, cake pops, cookies, and the like to meet demands of weekly ordersMaintains large volumes of shop desserts from start to finish on a weekly basis for the freezer, meeting pars of the shop weekly. Heavier work load during the summer months.

Quality checking and trimming all cakes from the cake baker, sending any back that do not meet our quality standardsDecorating with a higher level of training and finesse to meet the demands of our custom wedding cake orders, mostly decorated in Swiss buttercream.

Fondant experience also necessary for custom birthday/ celebration cakes as well as the occasional fondant wedding cake design.

Able to interpret colors, design inspirations, and overall esthetic of inspiration photos from clientWork with the team to create monthly flavors of cupcakes & seasonal desserts for storefrontResponsibilities not limited to those listed above, will change based on growth of menu & storefront. Ability to change direction required.

Maintain a clean working environment by managing station, dishes, floors, etc.

Additional Position Details:
Maintains a clean working environment both with opening and closing duties.

Actively conscientious of other team members by maintaining a balanced workflow of dish cleaning, sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment, emptying garbage, and other tasks related to an operational kitchen with shared duties.

Maintains inventory & stock counts of products and ingredientsFocuses on Mise en Place, returns equipment to home locations for others use.

Knows how operate large mixers, burners, sheeters, common knife skills, ability to move about the kitchen safely.

Produces products within guidelines of food & safety standards.

Scales, mixes, shapes and bakes cakes and other bakery products.

Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count and condition. Communicates any issues to management.

Stocks, rotates and faces products with attention to product quality and expiration dates. Monitors inventories & ordering when tasked to do so.

Participates in group communications in regards to new products, sales, and updates regarding the team and the business.

Demonstrates familiarity with products in department, with ability to continue learning.

Verbal with management in regards to events that may affect safety, productivity, security or any other situation that may have an adverse effect on the bakery.

Able to train and guide less seasoned decorators as they join the team and learn within.
MUST HAVE
Food Handler s card, Valid Drivers License & InsuranceQualificationsExperience of artisan baking techniques and industry standard equipment required.

At least 2 years of experience required of cake decorating at an elite level specifically with a meringue based buttercream with expertise of straight edges, perfectly stacked and level cakes, smooth buttercream, proportionate tiers, and ability to learn and embrace our tools and stacking methodsExperience with hand painting, color mixing, and piping with various tips in buttercreamFondant Experience of wrapping, shaping, cutting required.

Ability to carry, transport, and deliver weddings cakes in a provided vehicle.

Ability to apply fresh flowers and meet the floral designs of clients preferred.

Basic math and computation skills required.

Skills to work independently, effectively manage own time and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Skills to adapt to the shifting priorities and needs of a bakery environment.

Skills to communicate when under pressure required.

Self-motivated, with high attention to detail, quality and presentation.

Skills to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally in a team environment and one on one with coworkers, supervisors, and owners.

Skills to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet needs of the department.

Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy.

PhysicalityAbility to stand on feet for entirety of shift with swift movements through kitchen with production duties.

Continuously required to: use arms, hands and wrists; grasping/squeezing, pinching, rotating, pressing, shaping, etc.

Frequently required to: lift and carry 1-20 poundsOccasionally required to: lift and carry 21-50 poundsOccasional step stool use required.

Our SpaceOur production environment has a lot of movement, some tight quarters and areas that can be wet, slippery, louder, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler, freezer, and bakery.
