Yes, we have survived (and thrived!) during the challenging past few years... and more people are falling in love with Retro Donuts every day. Now may be your chance to join the Retro Donuts team as we approach our 9th Birthday. Retro Donuts is searching for motivated donut maker who has an understanding of the donut industry, and although experience would be awesome, we are willing to train the right individual looking for something unique in the donut-making world: Where "classic" morphs with "new". Is this person you? We are looking to hire for a full-time position (32+ hours each week), with room for growth. Our ideal candidates will possess most of the following attributes to be considered for the Retro Donuts team:- A positive, 'Can-Do' attitude
- Solid work history
- Self-starter with reliable transportation
- Commercial or home baking experience would be great. If not, we will train you
- Cake donut production, Icing and Decorating donuts for one shift minimum per week
- Weighing, mixing, rolling, cutting, proofing and frying yeast donuts and fritters
- Scale, mix and fry several cake donut varieties
- Hand-cut, roll and fry several varieties of fritters
- Preparing glazes, icings and fillings
- Maintaining a clean and tidy production area
- Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions, but also be inspired to create unique and delicious new recipes and flavors of cake donuts As you master production, along the way you will also learn;
- The willingness to make every donut better than ever before, because we are the best
- Ability to work and thrive within a strong team environment, but also independently on various tasks
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- An early riser (clocking-in at 2:00am or 3:00am most days)
- Cleaning dishes, pans, baking tools, etc.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, general cleaning
- Detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly and retain what you have learned
- Understanding of health-code and sanitation standards
- Have a current Washington State Food Worker Card
- Additional duties as required
- A great attitude (YES, this is a very important trait at Retro Donuts!
