ABOUT ROAMING BEAN COFFEE

Roaming Bean Coffee is a specialty coffee cafe at the Berkeley Marina and a mobile espresso bar that serves weddings, corporate events, and private gatherings across Northern California. We'll be three years old this July. We're a small team, and the way we do things is intentional. The drink in the cup matters. So does the moment we hand it over.

Family • Nature • Coffee. We use organic ingredients, quality milk, and house-made syrups (our cardamom syrup has its own following).

THE ROLE

We're hiring a barista to work shifts at our Berkeley Marina cafe and help us run the mobile espresso bar at private events. Some coffee experience helps, and real barista experience is highly valued. But honestly, who you are matters just as much to us. We're looking for someone we can trust to lead Roaming Bean Coffee during a shift, whether you're running the bar solo or working alongside another barista. Someone who cares about the people in front of them, takes pride in the craft, and shows up the same way every time. You'll be trusted to run service, hold the quality line when things get busy, and represent Roaming Bean Coffee well, whether you're behind the bar at the Marina or pulling shots at someone's wedding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare high-quality espresso drinks and teas with consistency Maintain milk texture and drink accuracy during rush periods (15-20 drinks at a time) Keep a clean, organized, service-ready bar throughout each shift Open and/or close the cafe independently Assist with setup and breakdown for mobile events Lift and transport equipment (30-50 lbs) Deliver attentive, efficient customer service

REQUIREMENTS

Prior barista or high-volume service experience preferred Comfortable working independently Weekend availability required Able to lift 30-50 lbs Reliable and punctual Reliable transportation is a strong plus for event work.

We started in 2023 with a single mobile setup. Today we're a permanent cafe at the Berkeley Marina plus 50+ events a year across Northern California, and we're still building. On a team this small, what you notice and suggest actually changes how we operate.
