Duties Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using Toast POS Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, and specialty beverages with precision and care. Operate cash registers efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and POS operations seamlessly. Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the café area, including food handling and preparation. Assist with food service tasks such as food presentation, serving baked goods or snacks, and restocking supplies. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and minimize wait times. Engage with customers to promote sales, answer questions about menu items, and foster a friendly atmosphere. Skills Proven experience as a barista with strong coffee-making skills and knowledge of beverage recipes. Previous cashiering experience using POS systems like Toast or Square is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations. Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and food preparation procedures. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
