Report to and support your Manager to: Greet and take orders from guests and members in your delightful, friendly, courteous manner Make kickass coffee, tea and espresso drinks Ensure that the cafe front and back are fully operational, clean, and tidy Answer customer questions regarding menu items and ingredients Help maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed Keep a food and sanitation log + refrigerator temperature log Waste management including recycling & composting Maintain workplace safety protocols at all times Help front desk staff watch front door, which is open to street traffic Some food preparation - light fare Perform daily side & prep work Help create a tightly knit, harmonious, collaborative environment amongst our members through friendly communication and personal connections Maintain Trellis's high standards of excellence Set personal/professional goals of achievement and review them on a bi-annual basis Minimum Qualifications You have an active Food Handler's certificate Some barista experience. Knowledge of using espresso machine (pull a shot) + steamer + pour-over + drip coffee. Knowledge of various specialty coffee & tea drinks Excellent customer service skills and you enjoy serving customers You are on time for all assigned work shifts You have six months POS experience: cash drawer (count/maintain/reconcile) & credit. You are able to lift 20 lbs You have keen interest in "Third Wave" coffee training to learn about specialty, small-batch coffees, grinds, flavor profiles, sustainable agriculture, bean sourcing, etc. You are responsible, self-motivated, have great communication & have delightful people skills. Hospitality mindset is a must! What do we need you to bring to the table? Passion. Ideally about one or more of the things that get us all out of bed in the morning.
