We serve specialty coffee, simple food offerings, and provide a warm, inclusive space for local families, youth, neighbors, and creatives. Our baristas help shape the heart of the guest experience. Position Summary The Barista prepares high-quality coffees and beverages, provides exceptional customer service, and maintains a clean, friendly café environment. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, teamwork, and working with people. Key Responsibilities Beverage Preparation Prepare espresso drinks, pour-over coffee, teas, and specialty beverages with consistency. Follow café recipes and maintain drink quality standards. Keep bar equipment clean and functioning. Customer Service Greet guests warmly and take accurate orders. Provide menu guidance and make recommendations. Handle POS transactions with accuracy and hospitality. Café Operations & Cleanliness Maintain a clean workspace, restock supplies, and follow all food safety requirements. Support with opening and/or closing duties. Keep guest seating areas tidy and welcoming. Team Collaboration Assist fellow baristas and communicate effectively during busy shifts. Participate in staff trainings, meetings, and continuous improvement. Uphold the positive, supportive culture of Café OASIS. Qualifications (Required) Friendly, welcoming customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced café setting. Willingness to learn barista skills, operations, and procedures. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20-30 lbs. Qualifications (Preferred) 6+ months barista experience. Experience with espresso machines and milk texturing. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred due to neighborhood demographics. Work Environment Fast-paced café setting with constant guest interaction. Must be available for morning, afternoon, weekend, or closing shifts as needed. Part-time hours based on café scheduling needs.
