Job Description

Lead Barista Templeton, CA 93465 $19 an hour - Part-time $19 an hour - Part-time Templeton Mercantile revives a deep sense of Templeton tradition with its casual dining experience. It offers hometown cooking with elevated and approachable cocktails, and a sophisticated coffee experience. Templeton Mercantile seeks to incorporate high-quality uppers and downers into a dining experience that stands the test of time and builds community by meeting all guests with warmth and consideration to their individual needs and desires.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Coffee Lead assists with overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in guest service and satisfaction, beverage quality, creating coffee and tea beverage specifications, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Full barista responsibilities Manage development and training of coffee staff to ensure they meet and maintain the required standards of service, health, safety & hygiene, product consistency, and productivity. Create seasonal coffee and tea drinks to help attract guests and elevate the guest experience, as well as, manage excess quantities of product. Assisting the General Manager in coffee product inventory. This includes, but is not limited, to taking weekly inventory of all coffee and tea products and ordering as necessary. Oversee the display of the coffee area to maximize functionality and attractiveness. Keeping all staff informed of coffee and tea specials and product changes. Create and maintain informational resources for reference on all coffee and tea products and recipes. Collaborate with the General Manager to create and update daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning/task checklists. Collaborate with the General Manager on product distribution meetings and opportunities to bring in new products. Determine work techniques, supplies, machinery and tools to be used by staff for The Coffee Shop Ensure the safety of employees and property by enforcing company policies and procedures Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous customer service. Verify that equipment and property is kept clean and in good condition through inspections and preventative maintenance programs with assistance from the General Manager.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must possess a valid Responsible Beverage Server certification through ABC. Must possess a valid California Food Handler's certification Must have 2+ years experience in applicable coffee operations
