We value hospitality at the same level as technical skill, and we're looking for a Head Barista with specialty coffee experience, who takes pride in craft, consistency, and team leadership. This role is ideal for someone passionate about serving coffee, refining workflow, mentoring baristas, and helping shape the guest experience at a high level. ⸻ Role Overview The Head Barista leads day-to-day bar operations and sets the standard for beverage quality, hospitality, and professionalism. You'll ensure drinks meet specialty standards, maintain consistency across shifts, and help develop a team that cares deeply about coffee and service. This is a full time 40 hour per week position. Weekend and holiday availability are required.Please note:
the training for this position will take place at our Downtown Los Angeles location. ⸻ Job Duties Make espresso and matcha based drinks Take guest orders and operate register Maintain shop cleanliness, and other cleaning duties Attend staff meetings Key Responsibilities Dial in espresso daily and maintain recipe consistency Taste regularly and adjust grind, yield, and ratios as needed Execute high-quality espresso and manual brew methods Maintain milk texture standards and latte art quality Ensure all drinks meet specialty coffee expectations Maintain equipment cleanliness and calibration Leadership & Training Train and mentor baristas in workflow, extraction, and hospitality Provide coaching to improve drink quality and speed Set the tone for professionalism and positive culture Help onboard new hires with structured training guidance Lead by example during busy service periods Operations Oversee bar workflow efficiency and station organization Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs Ensure adherence to opening and closing procedures Maintain cleanliness and health standards Support scheduling needs and shift leadership Guest Experience Provide warm, knowledgeable hospitality Educate guests about coffees and brew methods Resolve customer concerns professionally Help create a welcoming environment for regulars and new guests ⸻ Qualifications 2+ years specialty coffee experience required Strong espresso knowledge and dialing-in ability Comfortable tasting and adjusting extraction variables Experience with latte art and milk texturing Leadership or training experience strongly preferred Passion for hospitality and community Reliable and professional ⸻ Preferred Experience Experience with single origin and rotating coffee menus Manual brewing experience (V60, Kalita, Chemex, etc.) Understanding of brew ratios and extraction theory Experience with coffee education or cupping Previous shift lead or head barista role ⸻ What We Offer Opportunity to help shape coffee quality and culture Collaborative and supportive work environment Growth opportunities as we expand Free staff beverages and other merch discountsPay:
