Team Member/Barista

Job Summary:

As a team member you will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee beverages, preparing fresh food items, and ensuring the overall quality control of the products we serve. You will play a key role in providing excellent customer service while maintaining our café's high standards of food and beverage quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Coffee and Beverage Preparation:

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other menu items according to company standards. Ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Food Preparation:

Prepare and assemble light meals, sandwiches, baked goods, and other food items, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards. Follow food safety procedures when handling ingredients, preparing, and storing food. All team members must have or complete Serv Safe Certification with the probationary period.

Quality Control:

Regularly check the quality of both food and beverages to ensure they meet our standards of taste, freshness, and presentation. Report any issues with ingredients or products to management and take corrective actions as needed.

Customer Service:

Take customer orders, make product recommendations, and answer questions about the menu. Ensure customers have a positive experience by providing friendly, efficient, and professional service.

Cash Register & Payments:

Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle cash/credit transactions accurately and responsibly. Issue receipts and provide correct change.

Cleanliness & Hygiene:

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines, counters, and food preparation areas. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the café remains compliant with health regulations.

Inventory & Restocking:

Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and reporting shortages. Help with food preparation and drink ingredients ordering as needed.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and efficient work environment. Assist in training new team members and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Qualifications:

High levels of self motivation, work ethic and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods of time Current Serv Safe Certification or ability to obtain within probationary period
