Job Description

Shift Lead / Lead Barista - Willoughby's Coffee & Tea (Meriden, CT) Willoughby's Coffee & Tea has an opening for a Shift Lead / Lead Barista at our brand-new Meriden, Connecticut location opening this summer. We are seeking energetic, customer-focused individuals with café, retail, or customer service experience who are excited to help lead a team and create an exceptional guest experience. Flexible scheduling, including weekend availability, is required. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for hospitality are essential. Willoughby's Coffee & Tea is Connecticut's premier coffee roasting company. We take our coffee seriously while maintaining a fun, supportive, and team-oriented workplace. Position Overview As a Shift Lead, you will help oversee daily café operations during your shift while working alongside the team to deliver outstanding coffee, food, and customer service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and takes pride in creating a great experience for both customers and coworkers. Responsibilities Prepare high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere Lead and support team members during assigned shifts Assist with opening and closing procedures Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate drawer counts Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards Help train and coach new team members Assist in resolving customer concerns and ensuring smooth shift operations Qualifications Previous café, coffee shop, food service, or retail experience preferred Prior leadership, trainer, or key-holder experience is a plus Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Passion for coffee, hospitality, and creating great customer experiences
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
