Cat Cafe Barista

We are a mission-based nonprofit cat café where every purchase directly supports animal rescue and welfare. We operate at a high standard, we are clean, organized, and intentionally designed with one core principle: the cats always come first. Our environment is calm, upscale, and purpose-driven, and we hold our team to that same level of excellence. This is not a typical café role. We are seeking a professional, compassionate individual who is passionate about animal welfare and excited to be part of a purpose-driven organization. We are looking for someone who is proactive, high-performing, and takes true ownership of their work. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is deeply aligned with our mission. Barista experience is required, along with a strong work ethic, initiative, and a genuine love and care for animals. This role requires someone who can balance excellent customer service with attentiveness to the wellbeing of our cats. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver a polished, professional, and welcoming customer experience Prepare and serve barista style beverages with consistency and attention to detail Uphold exceptional cleanliness and organization standards at all times Ensure the safety, comfort, and care of all cats at all times without making customer uncomfortable Confidently communicate our mission, educate guests on adoption, and facilitate meet-and-greets to evaluate potential adopter while documenting outcomes and assessing strong matches between cats and individuals Create and post high-quality, engaging social media content aligned with our brand Take initiative to identify gaps and build better processes that improve operations and strengthen our mission Assist in training and guiding volunteers on proper cleaning procedures and feeding routines within cat and kitten lounge areas. Our workflow is unpredictable and some shifts are fast-paced and demanding, others are quiet and task-driven. High performers use slower periods productively and take ownership of the space by: Deep cleaning, mopping, and maintaining organization. Preparing and resetting cat condo spaces to our standards. Organizing, restocking, and completing daily upkeep. Handling small repairs from normal cat wear-and-tear There is always something to improve, clean, or elevate.

Qualifications:

Strong alignment with our nonprofit mission and values. Genuine love for cats and animal welfare. Professional demeanor and appearance with attention to detail. Proven initiative and ability to work without constant direction. Ability to perform under pressure and stay productive during slow periods Experience or strong interest in social media content creation. Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented. Personal experience caring for animals. We value firsthand animal care experience.

Pay:
