This pivotal role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of creating a vibrant café experience, shaping our brand's identity, and delivering exceptional customer service. As a founding team member, you will help establish our coffee offerings, develop operational procedures, and foster a welcoming environment for all guests. Your energy, passion for coffee, and commitment to excellence will help set the foundation for a successful and beloved café. Responsibilities Prepare espresso-based beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, macchiatos, and specialty drinks Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly and welcoming attitude Operate Toast POS efficiently and accurately Maintain beverage quality and consistency according to company recipes and standards Complete opening procedures and prepare the café for daily service Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and customer areas Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels throughout the shift Follow all food safety and sanitation standards Work efficiently during peak morning rush periods Assist with other café operations as needed Requirements Proven barista experience with a strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage presentation. Prior experience working in food service or retail environments with excellent customer service skills. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS; previous cashiering or cash handling experience is preferred. Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards. Knowledge of food safety regulations, food preparation, and proper food handling practices. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for sales transactions and inventory management.
