This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hospitality, preparing coffee drinks, running food, maintaining a clean and welcoming guest area, and supporting the team during busy service. Because we operate with a small team of usually 2-3 people per shift , this person must be proactive, flexible, and willing to take ownership of the front-of-house experience. Our hours are generally between 6:00 AM and 2:30 PM , so early morning and weekend availability are important. Experience in cafés, coffee shops, breakfast restaurants, or fast-casual hospitality is preferred. Responsibilities Create a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for every guest. Greet customers, answer basic menu questions, and help guide guests through the ordering process. Prepare coffee drinks, iced coffee, lattes, espresso drinks, and other café beverages according to standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining room, front counter, coffee station, and guest-facing areas throughout the shift. Bring food to tables accurately and professionally. Clear tables, wipe surfaces, reset seating areas, and keep the dining room guest-ready throughout service. Bag and organize takeout orders, online orders, and catering items when needed. Restock cups, lids, napkins, utensils, condiments, coffee supplies, beverage ingredients, and front-of-house items. Support the kitchen during peak times by running food, organizing orders, and helping drop food in the fryers when needed. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, counters, floors, restrooms, dining room, and customer-facing areas. Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times. Complete opening duties, including dining room setup, coffee station setup, stocking, and preparing the café for service. Complete end-of-shift cleaning, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and resetting the dining area. Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, ownership, and team members during service. Help maintain speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and a positive team atmosphere during busy breakfast and lunch periods. Experience Experience in a fast-casual restaurant, café, coffee shop, breakfast restaurant, or quick-service hospitality environment is preferred. Coffee, espresso, latte, iced coffee, or barista experience is strongly preferred. Customer service or hospitality experience is required. Experience running food, maintaining guest areas, handling takeout orders, and supporting front-of-house operations is preferred. Ability to work well in a small-team environment where everyone contributes to service, stocking, guest support, and overall café presentation. Ability to stay calm, organized, and friendly during busy breakfast and lunch rushes. Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Ability to follow café standards, drink recipes, checklists, and procedures. Willingness to assist with simple kitchen support tasks during peak times, including fryer support when needed. Must be dependable, punctual, coachable, organized, and team-oriented. Early morning availability is required. Weekend availability is required. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25-40 pounds when needed.
