Job Description

We are looking for someone who is available to work 8am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday and 6:30am-1:30pm on alternating Fridays!
Job Description:
As a Barista at Z Beans Coffee, you will be the face of our brand, providing exceptional coffee experiences to our customers. You will be responsible for preparing coffee beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Your passion for coffee and commitment to quality will contribute to the overall success of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet and engage with customers warmly, providing a welcoming environment.
  • Take orders efficiently and ensure customers receive their beverages in a timely manner.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Coffee Preparation:
  • Craft high-quality coffee and espresso beverages according to Z Beans Coffee's standards.
  • Operate coffee equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers with precision.
  • Maintain product consistency and uphold quality control during beverage preparation.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other baristas and shop leads to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support team members by stepping in where needed, especially during high-volume periods.
  • Actively contribute to a positive and productive team culture.
  • Cleanliness & Organization:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstations, equipment, and customer seating areas.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with daily shop cleaning tasks, including sanitizing equipment and restocking inventory.
  • Inventory & Stocking:
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring products are properly stocked.
  • Notify the shop lead when inventory levels are low or products need to be reordered.
  • Monitor the freshness of coffee and ingredients, minimizing waste.
  • Cash Handling:
  • Accurately handle cash and process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure correct payment procedures and maintain accountability for cash drawer balances.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Passion for coffee and willingness to learn more about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and recipes.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or food & beverage role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and minor holidays.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.
