Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated barista to serve customers with positivity and a desire to bring great customer service to each interaction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving others, attention to detail, and is available to work 7am-2pm every week on Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the shop, including overseeing coffee and food production.
- Communicate well with teammates and customers.
- Maintain standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety in the shop.
- Monitor inventory levels and and assist with taking inventory weekly to meet customer demand while minimizing waste, communicating when key items are needed urgently.
- Follow all company systems and all standard operating procedures.
Customer Service:
- Greet and engage with customers warmly, providing a welcoming environment.
- Take orders efficiently and ensure customers receive their correct order in a timely manner.
- Address customer concerns and inquiries with a positive and helpful attitude.
Coffee Preparation:
- Craft high-quality coffee and espresso beverages according to Z Beans Coffee's standards and recipes
- Operate coffee equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers with precision.
- Maintain product consistency and uphold quality control during beverage preparation.
Teamwork & Collaboration:
- Support team members by stepping in where needed, especially during high-volume periods.
- Actively contribute to a positive and productive team culture.
Cleanliness & Organization:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstations, equipment, and customer seating areas.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with daily shop cleaning tasks, including sanitizing equipment and completing the daily cleaning tasks
Inventory & Stocking:
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring products are properly stocked.
- Notify the Shop Lead when inventory levels are low or products need to be reordered.
- Monitor the freshness of coffee and ingredients, minimizing waste.
Cash Handling:
- Accurately handle cash and process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure correct payment procedures and maintain accountability for cash drawer balances. Requirements
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
Experience:
Preferred- Barista background or restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service or other food & beverage role.
- Passion for coffee and willingness to learn more about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and recipes. Benefits
