Barista Job Summary:

Responsible for making quality beverages, preparing food orders, working the cash register, and cleaning and stocking the store. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages Take customer orders accurately and handle payments (cash, card, POS systems) Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, equipment, and seating areas Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely Follow recipes and presentation standards for drinks and food items Restock supplies (cups, milk, syrups, etc.) Provide friendly, efficient customer service and handle complaints professionally Skills and Qualifications Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.) Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and cleanliness Teamwork and time-management skills Basic math skills for handling transactions Preferred Requirements (varies by employer) Previous experience in food service or coffee shop High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of specialty coffee or latte art (a plus) Working Conditions Standing for long periods Early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts Fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
