We are a French cafe based in Chicago with 3 locations. We make our own baguettes, croissants, pastries and desserts from scratch daily in our bakery in the French tradition. We are seeking team players who enjoy making simple, wholesome, honest food!
What You'll Do:
Some of the key functions of a Lea Front of House/ Barista Team Member will perform. They include but are not limited to:
Menu Knowledge & Food Preparation:
Learn our menu and ingredients
Make Drinks:
Prepare coffee, tea and other beverages. Package pastries.
Customer Service:
Provide a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service to customers.
Take Orders:
Greet customers and take orders
Take Payment:
Accept payment from customers Keep track of daily inventory: assess at the beginning of shift if paper and dish inventory is sufficient for shift and notify manager accordingly.
Quality:
Follow Lea French Cafe recipes and standards to ensure quality drinks.
Food Safety & Cleanliness:
Follow food safety standards; maintain clean workstations throughout your shift.
Restaurant Organization, Dishwashing & Support:
Maintain dish area, receive and restock, assist with kitchen tasks as necessary.
Expeditor work:
prepare orders to ensure that the orders are prepared and delivered correctly to the customer.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods.
Opening and closing:
open and close the restaurant according to company procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week including weekdays. Must be authorized to work in the
United States Food Handlers Certificate Skills:
Attention to detail Ability to work quickly under pressure Good hand-eye coordination Ability to follow instructions Basic math skills Excellent hygiene practices
Teamwork:
need to be able to work well with other team members.
Communication:
Need to be able to communicate well with other team members. Pay and Benefits; Base hourly rate is 16/ hour plus tips from a tip pool which average 5/ hour so 21 take home. We comply with Chicago workplace regulations in regards to Paid leave and Paid sick time.
