318 East 43rd Street, Chicago, IL 60653 Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to craft our beverages and lead front-of-house operations at Forum Cafe. This role is the face of the cafe, responsible for delivering exceptional coffee, tea, and beverage service while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, community-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Description The Forum Cafe will bring together neighborhood residents, creatives, and commuters within the historic Forum complex at 43rd and the Green Line through a celebration of Bronzeville's unique history and culture. Beverage Preparation:

Craft high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with precision, adhering to Forum Cafe's standards.

Customer Service:

Provide warm, professional, and engaging service to guests, creating a memorable and inclusive experience.

Register Operations:

Handle digital transactions on our POS system, maintaining a smooth and efficient checkout process.

Front-of-House Maintenance:

Keep the service area clean, organized, and inviting, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Community Engagement:

Act as an ambassador for Forum Cafe, building relationships with customers and promoting the cafe's culture-forward mission.

Event Support:

Assist the Manager of Cafe with events, such as cultural programs or community gatherings, to enhance the cafe's role as a local hub.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with back-of-house staff and the Manager of Cafe to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience. 3-4 years of experience in a cafe, coffee shop, or hospitality role; previous barista experience is preferred Must be able to obtain a food handlers certificate Knowledge of coffee and tea preparation techniques, with a passion for learning and perfecting beverage craft. Strong customer service skills with a warm, approachable, and community-oriented demeanor. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems. Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Passion for food, coffee, and creating memorable guest experiences. Experience in event support or community engagement is a plus. Ability to contribute to a culture-forward, inclusive atmosphere. Salary range$18
