This role is centered around luxury private events including weddings, corporate gatherings, brand activations, markets, and special celebrations throughout the Chicagoland area. As the Lead Barista, you will independently oversee and run coffee cart operations on-site while delivering an elevated guest experience from start to finish. We are looking for someone confident in handling high-volume service, managing setup and workflow independently, and creating exceptional handcrafted beverages in fast-paced event environments. This is not your typical café position — this role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, events, people, and bringing positive energy into every space they serve. Responsibilities Independently lead and operate mobile coffee cart service at private events and activations Prepare high-quality espresso beverages, lattes, iced drinks, chai, and specialty beverages with consistency and attention to detail Handle full event setup and breakdown of coffee equipment, supplies, and cart presentation Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace throughout service Manage workflow efficiently during high-volume service periods while maintaining hospitality standards Engage warmly with guests and provide a welcoming luxury coffee experience Communicate professionally with clients, guests, vendors, and event coordinators on-site Monitor inventory and ensure all event supplies are stocked and prepared before service Troubleshoot minor operational issues independently during events Represent the Blue Sapphire Coffee brand professionally in both appearance and attitude Qualifications & Skills Previous barista experience required (specialty coffee experience preferred) Strong espresso preparation and milk steaming skills including Latte art Ability to confidently run event operations independently Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable working in fast-paced event environments Excellent time management and multitasking abilities Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure Reliable transportation preferred Weekend and evening availability required Ability to lift equipment and assist with mobile cart setup/breakdown Ideal Candidate Friendly, outgoing, and hospitality-driven Takes initiative without needing constant supervision Detail-oriented with strong work ethic Passionate about coffee, events, and guest experience Comfortable serving in upscale weddings and luxury private events Adaptable and dependable in different event settings Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience Tips and event bonuses available Flexible event-based scheduling Opportunity to grow with a fast-growing coffee brand To apply, please send your resume and a brief introduction to:
