Café Barista Job Description Reports to: General Manager & Café
Manager Summary of Position:
A Cafe Barista sets the first impression of an operation to guests. They are an integral part of the café, coffee operations responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages to customers, ensuring each cup is crafted with precision and care. Exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of coffee will enable you to deliver great service experience to every customer. Primary responsibilities include entering orders into the operation's POS, processing payments, helping to fulfill the order to dine in or to-go and ensuring a seamless dining experience for customers.Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks, while maintaining consistent taste and presentation standards. Accurately preparing smoothies according to recipes, ensuring proper blending and presentation. Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, while providing exceptional customer service at all times. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, and handle cash transactions or operate the POS system. Know menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials. Prepare and present a variety of cold food items, including salads and sandwiches. Ensure all cold food preparations are executed with precision, paying close attention to flavor, texture, temperature, and presentation. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and cost. Performing tasks associated with opening or closing the café, such as setting up equipment or securing the premises. Inspiring guests to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle through our smoothie products and upselling more fruits and vegetables into each smoothie. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee preparation areas, smoothie equipment, coffee condiment stations, cooking equipment, take our garbage, prep areas, and dining areas. Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of customers and colleagues. Assist in restocking inventory, tracking supplies, and placing orders as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive work environment. Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines. Assist guests in understanding the menu, making recommendations, and answering questions about ingredients or dietary restrictions. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and resolve issues to the satisfaction of the customer and management. Follow established procedures for order modifications, special requests, and substitutions. Communicate customer feedback, special requests, and operational issues to management and the appropriate team members. Must have ServSafe food handler's certificate.Job Types:
