Job Description
Join our new cafe as a Barista, where your energy and passion for coffee will create memorable experiences for every guest. In this role, you'll craft coffee and tea drinks, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure the smooth operation of our café environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food and beverage service while working in a fast-paced, friendly setting. Hours you'll be working will be 5:00am to 10:00am.. we need someone for our morning commuters! Perfect for an early riser. Please do not apply if you can't commit to those early morning hours. Monday through Friday -5:00am - 10:00am. Occasional swaps for a weekday to a Saturday or Sunday...flexibility can be arranged. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly, attentive service Operate POS system Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling and preparation procedures Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy, including cashiering and basic math calculations Support the team during busy periods by managing time effectively, ensuring quick service without compromising quality Qualifications Previous barista experience or strong coffee experience is highly preferred (at least one year) Familiarity with POS systems Customer service skills with a positive attitude.. No drama please Ability to handle cash transactions accurately using retail math skills Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math for sales and cash handling Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment We are a brand new family-owned and operated cafe that will be launching a grand opening - you'll get to be a part of our opening! Please don't apply if you're only looking for seasonal work and are only wanting to work while home from college - this role likely won't even start until August so we can't have anyone start that's just going to leave and go back to school.
