Job Summary:

Maintains a clean café according to Breaking Grounds standards, pours and brews coffee, and provides a positive customer experience for guests.

Major Responsibilities:

Provides quality customer service. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner. Maintains a calm disposition when dealing with difficult or stressful situations. Asks for assistance when needed. Arrives on time for assigned shifts and fulfills shift assignments. Maintains high standards in the preparation and servicing of a variety of drinks and food. Ensures store profitability by following cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent, with previous Barista experience preferred. Must have weekend availability.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Familiar with computer programs including Microsoft Word and POS systems. Desire to provide a positive customer experience. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask. Excellent verbal and written skills. Solid communication skills. Possess a current ServSafe Certificate, or able to obtain one upon hire. Must be fluent in English.

Physical Demands:

Taste/Smell

• ability to detect and perceive the smell of coffee Talk/hear
• Frequently communicates with customers Stand and walk
• must be able to stand for shifts and move about the café. Use of hands
• operate machinery.

Must be able to lift and move materials, able to lift occasionally 50 lbs. Responsible for creating an environment that provides 5-star customer service.
