Job Description

Torch 180 is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vocational training and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Through our innovative programs and inclusive environment, we empower individuals to develop valuable skills and gain independence in the workforce. Our primary focus is the education of our students through training in our café and coffee bar. Job Description Torch 180 is seeking a passionate and experienced Part-time Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a barista role, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, and who may have experience in training others. Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train individuals who have disadvantages and disabilities (apprentices and students) in coffee preparation, customer service, and other essential employability skills.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in an inclusive environment.
  • Prepare and serve coffee and specialty drinks.
  • Take orders accurately, accommodating customizations and dietary needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar area.
  • Assist in inventory management and restocking.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  • Previous experience as a barista in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
  • Experience working with neurodiverse populations or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work some weekends.
  • ServSafe food manager or food handler's certification is preferred.
