Mobile Coffee Cart Barista

Job Summary 2nd Rule Coffee one of the first specialty coffee carts in New Jersey founded in 2019, known for delivering memorable coffee experiences at weddings, private events, corporate activations, and community pop-ups. What sets 2nd Rule apart besides being mobile is our dedication to craft coffee using all organic ingredients. We work locally with roasters so that beans are fresh for each event, we play with fun seasonal flavors, while preserving the integrity + showcasing coffee itself. We're looking for experienced Specialty Coffee Baristas who are passionate about coffee, hospitality, and creativity

• and are ready to go mobile!

We are also open to training the right candidate with the right attitude + availability! This is a flexible, part-time role suited for baristas who thrive in high-energy environments, enjoy being on the move, and love interacting with people. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in specialty coffee, including latte art, and are excited to work in unique venues across NJ, and occasionally NY and PA. Duties Craft exceptional coffee in unconventional environments.

Event execution:

Assist with set-up, service, and breakdown of mobile coffee carts for a variety of events—indoor, outdoor, public, and private.

Engage with guests:

Deliver warm, upbeat service to clients and guests, acting as both barista and brand ambassador.

Operate equipment confidently:

Use high-end equipment (e.g., La Marzocco, Eureka grinders) and troubleshoot basic issues on the go. Lift, load, and move: Safely lift and transport up to 70 lbs (including water jugs, gear boxes, kegs) during setup and breakdown. Maintain cleanliness & safety: Follow food safety and cleanliness standards in all environments, ensuring a safe and sanitary workspace.

Adapt on the fly:

Work comfortably in fast-changing environments, problem-solve on-site, and handle surprises with grace. Experience Specialty coffee experience is a must

• You've worked in third wave or independent coffee shops and are confident with espresso and milk-based drinks. Latte art ability required
• You can consistently pour basic designs (heart, tulip, rosetta) under pressure. Great with people
• You enjoy making genuine connections and have strong communication and customer service skills. Physically capable
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 70 lbs and work on your feet for 5-10 hours). Punctual and reliable
• You take pride in being prepared and showing up ready to work. Team player with a growth mindset
• Open to feedback, willing to jump in wherever needed, and eager to grow with a mission-driven team. Flexible availability
• Events are often on weekends, early mornings, or weekdays with variable schedules.
