Barista / Café Team Member Part-Time

Job Summary We're looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused team member to join our fast-paced café. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in their work. Part-time only. Nights and weekends required. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide friendly, attentive service Operate POS system Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cashiering duties with accuracy Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met Complete food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches and salads Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high service standards Skills Proven experience as a barista or in food service within a café or retail environment preferred Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks smoothly during peak hours Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and sales calculations Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced setting Previous experience in coffee preparation or the food industry is highly desirable
